First time we came to know about the place Vengurla when we were trying to book our room for Tarkali beach through MTDC. In 14 Feb 2004 we planned for a 4 days holiday and planned to cover Malvan,Tarkali,Kolhapur and places near Malvan. We did not get booking in Tarklai so booked a room for Vengurla MTDC. Started our journey around 12:30 p.m from pune to Kolhapur.Kolhapur is around 230 k.m from pune. One has to touch Pune-satra road i.e the Bombay-Bangalore high way to reach Kolhapur.  The road is very good to drive and enjoy the surroundings .It took us around 5 hr to reach Kolhapur with One halt at Karad (Anapurna Hotel on high way good place to relax with good food ).
