Do I really need to give the introduction of this place “Lonavala”. It is a hill station in the western state of Maharashtra in India. It is about 64 km away from the city of Pune and 96 km away from the city Mumbai. Lonavala comes to life during the rainy season as the countryside turns green with waterfalls and ponds. Most of the People from mumbai and pune loves to visit this place in weekends in rainy season to enjoy the rain ,water falls. There are lot of places one can visit in Lonaval and near by place Khandala . If you do not love the crowd and want to sit alone some where and enjoy the rain, greenery Lonavala has place for you. But if you want to stay there in hotels in weekends you will definitely face difficulties, the rates are very high and crowd will be everywhere.

I have visited this place twice. First time Me and my husband went there in one weekend. We wet to Bhusi Dam, which is one the popular place in Lonavala. That place was too crowded and we did not find a place to stand. So we trekked one small hill near that Dam, had very good time there, enjoyed the rain, we two are there only, so spent some nice moment.

Second Time I have been to this place on June23rd 07. We have covered three major attraction of Lonavala this time. It was just the starting of rainy season, so the place was not crowded that much and we can also enjoy the beauty of the places completely.

BhusiDam This is one of the major attractions of Lonavala. This place has waterfall, grennery, Dam and even you can enjoy the trekking of small hills around this place. There are steps built on the Dams, if you are visiting this place in rainy season, you can see the Dam water flowing through the steps. Many small hills and waterfalls surround this place. Lovely place where you can spend entire day too.

Lion’s Point Another beautiful place on the way from Bhusi Dam to Amby Valley. It is a great place to drive to. If stand at this point and look around you will feel like you are in heaven. There is one small hill, which looks like a Lion sitting and watching you. Hills around this place was covered with cloud and looked so beautiful, I do not have any words to explain that.

Amby Valley This is township constructed by Sahara groups in Lonavala. Common people do not have access to this place. But you can enjoy the drive from Bhusi Dam to this place. On the way we can see dense forest, some beautiful points and also Ghat roads.
