2007 Dec 21st Friday we have started from our home around 10:30 a.m. We have planned to visit Harihareswar first, stay there for one night then leave for our next destination. Harihareswar is around 200 k.m from pune.You have to go through Tamini Ghat,Malegaon route to reach there. It took us around 5 hours to reach Harihareswar. We have booked one room before .We spent whole evening visiting the temple and near the beach.
Our next day plan was to go to Malvan.We were not sure how far it is from Harihareswar. During the Local enquiry we came to know that there is some ferry service called JT which connects Raigardh district with Rantagiri through sea. It takes only 10to 15 minutes to cross the sea. The JT services has the capability to take car even buses .
We left for JT next day morning. That small village is around 5k.m from Harihareswar. We were surprised to see even buses are going through that and cross the sea. We did the same and reach in a small village .Our next destination was Khed, then from Khed to Chiplun. After reaching Chiplun we have decide not to go Malvan rather discover Guhaghar and Valenswar.
Guhaghar is around 65k.m from chiplun. We reached there on 22nd evening. There are many hotels and private room, but all are booked before. Finally we have managed to get one room and decided to stay there.
That evening we have visited Guhaghar beach.It is very clean and beautiful beach. One can see the Enron project from that beach. There is one chapatti near the beaches and many chairs are there where you can sit enjoy some bhel or sev puri and enjoy the beauty of sunset. We had very good time there in the evening.
As my kid felt ill we have decided to come back pune next day. Next day we left around 10 a.m. On the way to pune we have visited places like Hedvi,valenswar,Dabhol Enron project,Ganapti ,Durga and Shiv temple in Guhaghar. On the back to pune we follow the route of chiplun,umbraj ,satara and pune.We reached pune around 10:30 p.m.

Hedavi - 'DashabujaGanapati' : In every month on 'Chathurthi' the devotees of Lord Ganesh make a point to visit the temple. The idol of Ganapati was created in Kashmir. The idol is made from Marble. Goddess Laxmi is seated on the laps of Lord Ganapati. On the body of Ganapati there is a sacred thread in the form of a snake. Bow, Trishul, Club 'Modak' chakra lotus are the weapons in the hands of God Ganapati. This temple is of the time of Peshwas and the foundations of Kelkar Swami. The temple was renovated in 1956. Charitable institutions are built to provide accommodation facilities to the tourist. Near this temple at a distance of 3 km there is a temple of 'Uma Maheshwar' in Bomanhal. Vyadeshwar : This temple is situated at Guhaghar Taluka. In this temple there are idols of Shreedevi, Surya Narayan, Vishnu, Ganapati. There are temples of Balkeshwar, Talkeshwar, and Udaleshwar in this area. They are the incarnations of Vyadeshwar. How to Reach : In Guhaghar.
Velaneshwar : Situated near the seashore a very quite and nice place for relaxation of the tourists. It is at 25 km from Guhakar and 6 kms from Hedavi. The area of Velneshwar temple is 70 kms. In front of the temple there is a huge pillar for lightning lamps. Also, there are temples of 'Kal Bhairav', 'Ganapati', 'Rameshwari'. There are also ancient charitable institutions and cannons in this temple. How to Reach : From Guhaghar 21 kms.
Ufrata Ganapati : When the face of idol of Ganapati facing towards the east turns towards west, it came to be known as Ufrata Ganapati. This temple is located near Guhagar the idol is white in colour & there are Parshu & Trishul in its hands. There is a snake entangled the idol. Around 300 years ago this idol was found by the fisher man or kolis in the sea. How to Reach : In Guhaghar.
