Ifyou want to visit a calm beach ,enjoy the sea ,enjoy the sea food prepared in Konkani style then near Alibag Kashid village is the best place for you. Not very much crowded ,lonely sea shore and ideal holiday place ,where you can also enjoy the village life.
We have visited this place with one of my husband’s colleague’s family .Left for Alibag one Friday.It took us around 3 to 4 hours to reach Alibag. My Husband’ friend heard about a beach KHIM near Alibag ,we went there ,but did no find that place that good. Then we left for Kashid. Found a place where my husband had come before with his friend s before. That cottage is located at One side of the road and the othe side is the sea shore.Quiet and calm place .Only few people are there. We spent the whole evening in the beach. Next day early morning we left for the beach. Had very good time there ,spent entire morning in the beach ,had a bath in sea .My Kid was also very busy at sea shore with friend’s daughter(They both are same age .at that time 7 months).
In the evening we have visited Birla temple near to Kashid village.Nice place to spend few hours.Then we come back to the beach ,enjoyed the sun set.
Next day was another adventurous day as we left for Murud /Janijira fort. Murud is not a big village but it has a huge palace of Nawab of Murud. That is the only attraction in the village. But Murud is famous for the fort of Janjira. The fort is build in the sea 2 Kms. inside of Murud. This is one of the vital sea-forts in Maharashtra. The fort is old one but still very strong. Both my husband and his friend had a strong fear to travel by a boat to that place, but we ladies insist them. I enjoyed the boat journey . Though I was not able to visit the fort much,as it was summer ,very hot every where and I have to sit under a tree with my son, I like the out side beauty of the fort . I heard this is one of the rare forts in Maharashtra which was not managed by Marathas.
Truly speaking My Kashid /Murud trip was one of the memorable trip I had till now.
