On22nd jUly 2007, My parents, husband ,son and me we left for Bhor.
We were not very much sure about the places we are going to cover this time.We have decided to cover Bhor,Bhatghar Dam and if possible saswad and Nasarpur. We left Pune around 11:30 and moved towards Pune satara high way. The climate was very good that day so we had faced very high tarffic on the way. After driving around 50 k.m we have to take a right turn to reach Bhor.On the way to Bhor you can see the Bhatghar Dam from the road.Around 6 k.m before Bhor ,one has to take right turn to reach there. After Bhatghar we moved towards Bhor .The temple was closed that time,so we have to wait there till 4 o'clock .We did not get a chance to see the Rajwada there as some shooting was going on that time. Then we left for Pune.On the way we stopped to have tea. There we saw the sign board of Balaji temple at Narayanpur and our previous plan changed .We went there and had a good time. I am trying to put some detail of the palces I have seen that day. My overall experience of this trip was unique and memorable.
Bhor: Bhor, is located about 56 kilometers south of Pune. It has one very old Shiva temple, Bhoreswar, which is constructed in 17th Century .This temple is very beautiful and calm. Another attraction in Bhor is the royal palace, which I heard is used for many Film and TV serial shootings.
Bhatghar Dam: One the way from to Bhor from pune, one can see this Dam from the road. It is around 50 k.m from pune. You have to take right turn 6 k.m before Bhor and have to travel around 3 k.m to reach at this place. Bhatgar Dam is on the river Velvandi, it is one of the highest river dams wall in India. Bhatgar Dam is also known Lloyd Dam. Beautiful gardens have been developed in the surrounding areas. Nice cool and calm place and an ideal picnic place.
Ketkawale BalajiTemple: The Venkateshwara Temple is a magnificent replica of the original Tirumala-Tirupati temple. The temple was a mega initiative by the Lord Venkateshwara Charitable and Religious Trust, a trust set up by the Venkateshwara Hatcheries corporate group. The construction of the temple went on from 1996-2003.I heard all the materials used for the construction was brought from the Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. We also heard that the priest and the Ladoo makers are also from Tirupati.
