Bhimashankaris a beautiful temple of Lord Shiva which is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. This is at the height of 1034 mtrs. It is 128 K.m from pune via Mancher. Bhimashankar is a good paradise for nature lovers, trekkers, jungle lovers and bird watchers. One can see natural beauty and lovely scenery in this place.
I have visited this place twice and both times in rainy season. On the way from pune to Bhimashankar you will find hills ,jungles ,inside jungles different type of birds and animals, flowers and plants. If you are visiting this place in rainy season then you can enjoy the natural beauty every where green and green ,streams coming from hills and cloud everywhere. A big size bell in Hemadpanthi structure built by Nana Phadanavis is also a feature of Bhimashankar.
The first time I went there with my husband after our marriage. We went by ST Bus from pune. I enjoyed the journey a lot. When we reached Bhimashankar it was raining there. We were not able to see each other's face as there were clouds everywhere. It was in shravan month so bit rush was there. We have to stand in a queue in rain. We had good Darshan of God . You will not find Good Restaurants there if you want to have your lunch or dinner. But small restaurants are there where you can get some food.
Bhimashankar is worth visited for jungle lovers and trekkers as well as for pilgrims.
